Thank you for this baba! Elegua and Eshu worship runs deep in my mothers' family so naturally I have an alter in dedication of those orishas. I do the work of knowing what they actually like and do the tasks of doing offerings every Monday like my great-grandparents have. I do eventually want to be initiated and have a mentor do rituals and show me, since there are no longer teachers in my family. Thank you for these wise words and guidance. Ase! PS: Still loving your first book. 🥰Looking forward to the second one.
Thankyou for this. I see many priests who frown on people who has such altars. The house I used to belong to they would tell us if you knew the guardian Orisha, thru divination, then we could put altar to them. With of course understanding, only maybe prayers, candle....and maybe small food offerings, candies, nothing else. It wasn't until I came online many years back, I seen I stress "some" priests talking bad about it, or even Lol at this.
Thank you I was instructed by my Iya to make two Orisha shrines bc they are so powerful in my life. As a thank you. And as a way to show gratitude to them. I am on the road to get crowned and initiated into priesthood.
i come from a heavy bloodline of readers/ workers..i have the gift too..i dnt use it all the time ( antisocial) however i was choosen by an orisha and was not " initiated ,so are you talking abt outside ppl who wish to become an orisha worker?
You have to meet an elder and start your path as well.. you may have to network a bit till you find someone who takes you in and teaches you the religion. Please remember to get my book on amazon.com! Expansion of the igbodun!
@@fullyellowjacketz436 It is hard. I know because in Hialeah, Florida there is so much drama around the religion, which is stupid. It is all Ifa at the end. Try to look around. If you live in the Northern parts of Florida, I highly recommend contacting asieloshunyeyeo, who has a ETSY account with more information. If you are central Florida, I recommend Joseph Baba Ifa, who has a RUclips channel as well and he is well knowledge in Lucumi and Santeria. South Florida is a hard one, but I am looking into a Ifa store at 4ave which has a Babalawo and Santera... they are contact with Babas in Africa as well, so they are the closest I am trusting with now. They are good people, but they have nasty clients who do dark magic, and demand stuff that seem illegal. So sad how some Babas get dragged around by their own children and the community. That is the drama one has to be careful over. I am still on the look out and RUclips seems to be a good place to look into channels and seeing if there is a Baba or Santera who can do the rituals I need to be a priestess like my great grandparents were. Just keep a look out around the place, while studying the religion on your own. Another channel that is great which has a lot of information is Obà Oriaté David Alá Aggayú (warning it is mainly Spanish so put on caption translation). I hope my comment helps you in any which way. I know the frustration, you have my sympathies. Please don't get discourage, you'll find a teacher/mentor to crown you and make it offical. Having a mentor is so important. Be patience with yourself, others and with looking. Never rush, because that is where mistakes are made in this religion. I wish you the very best. ASE!
